Kimberly’s educational background includes a B.A. in Sociology from Emory University, an M.Ed. in Special Education (Interrelated) from Georgia State University, and an Ed.S. in Mental Health in Schools from the University of Missouri. She expanded her expertise by becoming a certified trainer for The National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children and completing Child First training as a Child Forensic Interviewer. Alongside her role as Behavior Specialist with GNETS, she founded K. Hodges Consulting, LLC, aiming to support individuals impacted by trauma beyond the GNETS setting.

In 2020, Kimberly became one of Georgia’s first trainers in Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model in Education, partnering with South Metro GNETS Director Derrick Gilchrist to implement brain-based training for staff and students. She joined the Mindset team in 2023 as a consultant, co-developing the Mindset Trauma Responsive Model Classroom and advocating for intentional connections as foundational to educational success.
