MindSet Instructor Certification

The chosen instructor candidate will have the capacity, resources, and necessary materials to certify others within their organization in the MindSet Curriculum. This certification will remain valid for a period of one year.

MindSet Foundations Instructor Certification
We define the overarching purpose and philosophy of our approach, emphasizing "Keys to Success" in minimizing and eradicating the necessity for restraint and seclusion.
The training further outlines foundational principles for fostering a preventive culture, concluding with instruction in targeted communication strategies for managing instances of oppositional/defiant behaviors and potentially aggressive conduct.
Our progression transitions from de-escalation tactics to instructing avoidance techniques aimed at ensuring safety for all parties involved.

MindSet Full Instructor Certification
This curriculum includes and builds upon the Foundations Curriculum and offers an in-depth exploration of restrictive and containment procedures. These measures are strictly reserved as a last resort, never used for punitive purposes or staff convenience. this program emphasizes crisis prevention and avoidance as the primary goals.
Our training emphasizes techniques that ensure the safety of all involved, prioritizing methods that avoid pressure points or joint locks and instead emphasize leverage and body positioning. We establish and emphasize safe practice guidelines for both training and technique application. A continuum checklist, emphasizing the least restrictive measures, guides participant decision-making.
Central to our approach are four guiding principles: promoting choice and trust, avoiding power struggles, prioritizing proactive approaches over reactive responses, and setting up conditions for success.

MindSet Behavior Coach Certification
Our Behavior Coach Certification assists your staff in enhancing skills for educators who call for assistance. We examine behavior across the multiple tiers of support through a coaching lens to shift reactive practices to proactive approaches & planned responses. While resources are available to help educators access interventions, coaching empowers educators to develop competencies & confidence to differentiate their approaches & strategically broaden their skill sets.
Our coaching emphasizes core competencies and effective strategies for behavior identification and intervention. Once certified, our trainees benefit from a supportive environment without the need for ongoing supervision.
Districts can take advantage of our trained MindSet Behavior Coaches, who provide consistent support to staff, fostering a shared language and a proactive culture. These services not only address school climate issues but also enhance teacher retention through meaningful connections and a sense of safety. By increasing the district's capacity to support individuals affected by adverse experiences, our approach promotes insight and awareness in trauma-responsive practices for both students and staff.
