Sands Herrin
Sands Herrin is a valued contributor to Mindset Safety Management, specializing in school and district behavioral consultation and program development. He also serves as a Mindset Specialist and curriculum developer. Sands’ educational journey began with a Bachelorās degree in Philosophy and a minor in Intercultural Communication from Valdosta State University, supplemented by studies at Kansai University of International Studies in Japan focusing on Asian Philosophy and Culture. His career started as a paraprofessional at The Harrell Psycho-educational Center (GNETS) in Waycross, Georgia, where he later obtained Middle School Teaching Certification and a Masterās Degree in Behavior Disorders. Over 20 years, Sands taught students with severe emotional/behavioral challenges in separate day school and residential settings.

As a District Behavior Specialist
As a District Behavior Specialist, Sands developed programs to support students with behavioral concerns and provided training for staff. He also initiated Adventure Groups district-wide, utilizing his certification in Ropes Course Facilitation and Adventure Based Counseling from Project Adventure. Sands retired from public education in 2022 after 32 years of service and founded his behavior consulting firm, Jump The Creek Support Services LLC.
